A state of the art DVD course on the early detection and management of oral cancer for doctors, dentists and health professionals.
The number of new cases and the death rate from oral cancer rises each year while the incidence and mortality from most other forms of cancer continues to fall. Overall survival rates are about 50%, with the chance of survival greatly increased when the disease is discovered early. The aim of this course is to increase the awareness of oral cancer and recognise the different ways that it might present in the primary care setting, it includes descriptions and photographs of oral pathology and the identification and management of oral tumours. There are videos of how to carry out a head and neck examination on two patients with oral cancer and one healthy patient.
The CODE guidance on the early detection of oral cancer is provided with the course and this has an oral cancer examination checklist for you to follow and an oral examination record template.
