A major celebration took place this summer to mark the 30th anniversary of CODE. Established in 1978 to support dental employers, CODE has grown substantially over the years and has more recently launched three member services: CODE AFA – the Association for Facial Aesthetics, CODEplan for tailor made dental plans and patient finance and CGMS (Clinical Governance Made Simple). Founded as the Confederation of Dental Employers that was a membership organisation run on a voluntary basis. It is now a lean and efficient commercial organisation and is known as CODE. Its most pressing aim for 2008 is to build on the success of CODEplan so that dentists who are in the NHS can count on dependable support and advice for their transition to private practice.
